Smoky Mountain Cabin: King Bed, Hot Tub, Zero Pet Fees, 15 Minutes to Train | House in Whittier
3 Bedroom House in Cherokee, Whittier
Welcome to our personal haven, The Re-Up Retreat! We are Morgan and Tim, and we are so thrilled you found your way to our mountain getaway.
When we bought this cabin in the spring of 2026, we had a very specific vision in mind. Life gets loud, and eventually, everyone runs on empty. We know that feeling all too well, which is exactly why we created this space. We wanted to build the ultimate transition from your stressful daily grind so you can "re-up" on what actually matters. Because this is our personal home away from home, we absolutely refuse to treat it like a standard vacation rental. When you walk through our doors, we host as if we are welcoming old friends.
Here is a look at what we’ve put together to make your stay unforgettable:
Our "No BS" Promise
Taking care of people runs in our veins. There is nothing worse than arriving at a vacation rental only to find a single roll of cheap, scratchy toilet paper and a completely bare kitchen. We do things differently here. We fully stock our cabin with quality amenities, premium coffee and tea, and all the daily essentials you need. We want you to conquer the mountain, drop your bags, and let us take care of the rest so you don't spend your vacation running errands at the grocery store.
The Unplugged Vibe
We curated the interior of the cabin to help you put your phone down and engage in the present moment. We’d love for you to spin a record from our curated vinyl collection, or swap a novel from our "Take a Book, Leave a Book" little library. You can melt into the recliners around the fireplace, gather around our sizable dining table for a family meal, or pull out a board game from our collection after a day of exploring.
The Outdoor Oasis
Once you’ve had your fill of the hiking trails, our outdoor spaces are designed for pure relaxation. Grab a drink and take in the wooded view on our oversized covered deck. In the afternoons, you can take a nap on the daybed swing or have a cookout on the dedicated grilling deck. In the evenings, the relaxation continues—climb into our hot tub or head down to the fire pit to roast marshmallows under the stars.
Relax in Our Themed Suites
When it's time to turn in, we want you to be as comfortable as possible. We offer three uniquely designed bedrooms to fit your group's needs:
The Dreams Suite: A private upstairs escape featuring a cozy Queen Bed and an Ensuite Bathroom.
The Sunday Suite: A spacious downstairs room with a King Bed, a relaxing sleeper chaise, and an Ensuite Bathroom.
The Happy Little Accidents Room: A fun downstairs room featuring an XL Twin over Queen Bunk Bed and a sleeper chaise.
Truly Pet-Friendly (With Zero Pet Fees!)
A lot of cabins claim to be pet-friendly, but we actually mean it. We believe your best friend deserves to recharge with you, so we welcome up to TWO dogs for absolutely free. When you arrive, you'll find our special Dog Welcome Kit waiting for them. It includes food and water bowls, a jar of treats, waste bags (with a reserved outdoor waste bin), dedicated muddy paw wipes, and even a little souvenir toy they can take home with them.
The Perfect Location
Even though you’ll feel tucked away in the woods, our Whittier location is incredibly convenient. We are nestled exactly 15 minutes between the charming towns of Bryson City and Sylva. If you want to venture out, you can get to amazing attractions like the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, Harrah's Cherokee Casino, and the Blue Ridge Parkway in half an hour or less.
We built this space so you can relax, recharge, and reconnect, and we pour our hearts into making sure it exceeds your expectations. We can't wait to share it with you.
See you on the mountain!
— Morgan & Tim
Best to know before you book:
-The property is best accessed by 4WD or AWD. No low riding vehicles will be able to make it up our mountain road.
-There are stairs up to the main level and in the interior of the house. There are handrails and a platform to rest but if stairs are an obstacle, we recommend not booking.
-We are in the woods, there will be bugs. We are dedicated to making sure the property is sprayed for insects quarterly, but these guys are hardy and they love to come and say “hi.” You may come across a spider or two, the moths love hanging out on our front porch ), and a pesky stink bug might make its way inside too. For the spiders, we have found a plastic cup and our state of the art spider removal kit (a purple piece of paper tacked on the fridge for your use) work a treat. At the end of the day, chalk it up to the trade off of sharing these fascinating creatures’ habitat with them.
Other things to note
FOR THE DOGS
-Water and food bowls with the mats for extra drippage are stored on top of the fridge. Please pop those in the dishwasher prior to your departure if used.
-Treats are in the jar on the game shelf. We are sticking with the basic Milkbone brand treats.
-You have a dog basket filled with poop bags, paw wipes, a fur scraper, a couple travel bowls should you need them for a hike (please return them) and a toy to help amuse your four legged friend (that can go home with you), and some cleaning supplies because accidents do happen. Should your pup make a mess on the carpet, please let us know. They are washable and we will need to notify our turnover specialists.
-Should you have to leave your dogs behind, please crate them in the crates provided in the kids room or use your own. Even the best behaved dogs get anxious in new places when left alone.
-In case you left leashes at home, we have a spare set next to the front door (please return prior to departure)
-Comfy beds in the living room. They can be moved to the bedrooms if you like.
-There is a specific dog trash can outside for the poop bags on the patio downstairs.
FOR THE BABIES AND KIDS
-Retractable baby gates at the top and the bottom of the interior stairs. For the utmost security, please use the center clips as well as the locking mechanism to prevent accidents.
-Pack and play with changing table are down in the kids room.
-Convertible high chair is in the dining area
-There are kid friendly dishes in the kitchen cabinets. Please put those in the top rack of the dishwasher, along with the additional plastic dishware as they will melt in the lower rack.
-The televisions in the kids room as well as the living room do have HDMI should any guest want a gaming system plugged in. There is an HDMI splitter in the living room and a cable on the back of the TV in the kids room.
-We have a selection of children’s books located in the kids room downstairs. We ask that they are enjoyed and remain here at the cabin.
-Blackout curtains are in every room, encouraging extra sleep time and come in clutch for naps.
-Sound machines in every room and they will play lullabies should you need them.
A special nightlight has been installed in the kids room that will create a light show for our little guests as they drift off. Or for you, adult reading this, because pretty lights are nice.
