Welcome to Mountaineer Retreat!
This newly updated home is only 5 minutes to Boone, but tucked into a quiet community along Goshen Creek. All new furnishings include a sofa and chair gathered around the gas log fireplace with TV mounted over the mantle. Behind the sofa, it opens to the dining area and kitchen. The nook table seats up to eight guests. To the right is the kitchen, complete with stainless appliances. Right off of the kitchen is the back deck with gas grill, convenient for cooking and serving meals.
The main level has two king suites on separate sides of the home for privacy. The largest suite has deck access, a 40" TV, a sound machine for a great night's sleep, and USB charges for charging your devices. The private bath features a double vanity with unique single bowl and a shower. On the opposite side of the home is a second king suite. This room has a built-in desk if you need to complete any remote work or learning. The live-edge bench at the foot of the bed adds a touch of mountain elegance to the space. The private bath has a combination tub/shower and a separate water closet.
The loft is an inviting game space including air hockey, a foosball table, and the best board games for the whole family to enjoy! The sofa doubles as a full-sized sleeper sofa. The third suite has two twin beds, a 32" TV, and private bath with a pedestal sink and shower.
Outside, enjoy the multiple decks or sit around the fire pit toasting your marshmallows. If you'd like to explore, The Watauga County Parks and Recreation center is only 3 miles away. Boone and Blowing Rock are each under 10 minutes from the home. Find one of many local waterfalls, or hike around Price Lake!

- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement. Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking, or by calling us with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a firestarter for $25 plus tax.
CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled with a 15+ day notice will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 8-14 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of their reservation payments. Bookings canceled within 7 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
