On the Fourth of July, they're celebrating with a parade at 10:00, then a day full of vendors, music and food trucks, finishing up with fireworks.

Our house is the perfect place to celebrate the Fourth, or spend a great summer weekend. Located just 8 miles from Independence, you're close enough to enjoy all of the fun Fourth of July activities, and 6 miles the other direction is the historic town of Galax, VA.
The home is just a few miles away from multiple public boat launches on the New River, the New River Trail which is great for hiking and biking, and Matthews State Forest.
The house has all the charm of a mountain home built in the 1930s, with hardwood floors on the first floor and beautiful pine floors in the upstairs bedroom and cozy spaces for your whole group to gather. It also has the amenities expected for today's guests. The kitchen, laundry room and bathroom were all completely renovated in 2026, including all new appliances.
A large, acre-and-a-half lot affords privacy and some space to enjoy the outdoors. While inside free wifi, board games and a fooseball table help keep your group entertained.
The kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans and dishes, and sheets, towels and toiletries are also provided for all guests.
