Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: It was handy for the folk festival, albeit not really walkable, due heavy traffic/no verges or pavement in parts. It had been nicely done as a granny annexe at some stage. For two it would have been very nice. It was well equipped.
Negative: Obvious signs that maintenance was non-existant (broken and loose floor tiles in the bathroom; top broken off kitchen bin and prone to fall in; blown double glazing units; light not working in living room; left-over blind fittings on bathroom window, but no blinds, so lack of privacy. The sign for the property was green, not white, due to not being kept clean, and we over-shot several times as it was so easy to miss. Some of these points have been mentioned over quite some time. Also, the bathroom can only be accessed by going through the bedroom. OK as I was sharing with a very old friend, but could have been an awkward issue. The sofa bed was quite comfortable by putting the duvet under the bottom sheet. However, our message about requiring the sofa bed had not been received. I had looked in the storage under the bed and found an untidy mess of objects thrown in any old way, so I was pretty horrified when out host brought round a duvet, and fished out what looked like a crumpled rag which was, in fact the bottom sheet. Oh, and for the avoidance of doubt, the view from the kitchen and living room is of a fence screening the resident children's swimming pool, and from the bedroom of the host's car parking area and trees/bushes (also from the bathroom). There is no sound insulation between the annexe and part of the host's house above you.
