Built in 1810 as a meeting room and office by the son of the owner of Gayle Mill (an early water mill), it has been carefully restored and renovated to an immaculate standard, making it the perfect country retreat within this conservation area. With the Pennine Way and short meandering waterfall trails on the doorstep, such as Aysgil Force and Hardraw Force, the area also offers myriad country pursuits such as boating, fishing, horse riding, potholing or even clay pigeon shooting. The nearby market town of Hawes (0.5 miles) boasts quaint shops, cafes, pubs, a traditional market, and a farmers’ auction. And it’s also home to the award-winning Wensleydale Cheese Factory, associated with the film ‘Wallace and Grommit’, where you can try delicious tasters.
With waterside views of the beck from every room, this stunning property offers charm and character. Admire exposed beams and feature stone walls, together with modern contemporary fittings of the highest standard. Leave coats and muddy boots at the doorstep of the impressive glass entrance, then head into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which is perfect for entertaining with its magnificently equipped kitchen (that includes a wine chiller).
