Summary: I love urban spaces, but never had a chance to live in one for long. This location a great opportunity to get a taste of the lifestyle. Situated on a happening street, a few blocks down from Philly's premier Broadway touring theatre and surrounded by interesting shops and restaurants, the entrance is one of those nondescript doors you sometimes see in between businesses on the street level of a building. Behind the door is a long flight of steps (so be prepared for that) to a cozy oasis, hidden away from the bustle of the big city. You might get awakened at 3am by a nocturnal trash truck and your view is the classic urban vista of a brick wall, but I consider that part of the urban charm (since I don't normally live with that 24-7). Honestly, other than the brief crash of a few dumpsters, the location is remarkably quiet, calm, and separate from the busy city street. The apartment is simple, but had all the amenities I needed. A great place to serve as a homebase while exploring the city. Center city Philly has so much in walking distance, so this apartment was a perfect central location to start an urban exploration in any direction.
